Graveside Service with Military Honors for Mrs. Bessie Lee Deloney Brown, 68 Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00 am Saturday at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend Michael Jones officiating. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00 pm till 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bessie Lee Deloney Brown was born July 9, 1952 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Charlie and Lillie Pearl Davenport Deloney. She departed this life on December 31, 2020 at the Decatur General Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.
Sister Brown confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Town Creek, Alabama. She presently was a faithful member of St. James C.P. Church in America located in Decatur, Alabama. She was also an active member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 633. Bessie proudly served in the United States Army from 1977-1984 until she received an honorable discharge.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; oldest sister, Ethel Deloney Goode; great grandson, Jayden Deloney; nephews, Kendrick Deloney and Amari Deloney.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Jeffrey Brown of Decatur; one daughter, Natosha (Donta) Russell ; one son, Andre Deloney both of Decatur; three sisters, Bertha (Dennis) Webb, Delores (Freddie) Matthews and Lola (Dwight) Teague all of Decatur; three sisters-in-law, Vanessa Williams of Decatur, Teresa Smith and Charlene Tubbs both of Bessemer; three grandchildren, Kavon and Travon Deloney and Sidney Dudley all of Decatur; one great granddaughter, Myla Henry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
