Funeral for Bessie Louise Yarbrough of Decatur will be held at noon on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur with the Reverend Herbert Cartwright Jr. officiating and the Reverend Emma White eulogizing.  Interment will follow in the Sterrs Addition of the Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Public Viewing will be Thursday from 2:00 P.M. -7:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:30 A.M.-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on May 15, 1944 to Hassie Mae Yarbrough and the late Nathaniel Torain Sr.  She departed this life in a tragic automobile accident on May 19, 2012 in Decatur.

Bessie confessed Hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of First M.B. Church in Decatur.

She retired in 2004 from General Motors as a machine operator.  She was currently employed as a direct support professional for the Center for the Developmentally Disabled  (CDD).  Family was a priority in her life.  She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her father; Nathaniel Torain Sr; son, Roger Yarbrough and husband; Kermitt Stovall.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  two daughters, Sandra Yarbrough and Feloney (Carl) Burroughs of Birmingham; mother, Hassie Mae Yarbrough Yates of Decatur; one sister, Margie Perkins of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Quntar Stewart, Mario Ayers, Council Ayers Jr., Shayla Yarbrough, Brandi Yarbrough, Darren Yarbrough and Carla Burroughs all of Birmingham, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friend.
