A Service of Love and Remembrance for Mr. Bruce Hampton, 65 of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00 AM Tuesday July 8, 2025 at Bethlehem P. B. Church in Hillsboro, Alabama. Inhumation will follow in Sanford Memorial Gardens. Mr.Hampton will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.
Public viewing will be Monday July 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Bruce Kelly Hampton was born August 17, 1959, in Lawrence County, Alabama, to Willie Daniel Ashford and Luzaner Hampton. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his residence in Decatur, Alabama.
Bruce graduated from Courtland High School and attended Calhoun Community College, where he mastered a trade in welding.
He accepted Christ at an early age. His two favorite things to do were cut grass and work on vehicles. He worked at Champion Paper Mill, Wolverine, and Aramark.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Daniel Ashford; mother, Luzaner Hampton; brothers, Claude Hampton, Willie C. Ashford, Tommy Lee Ashford, Curtis Ashford, and Richard Ashford; sisters, Susie Hampton Rice and Stella Gibson; and two great-grandchildren, Amir and Dramier Crayton.
Bruce Kelly Hampton leaves behind a loving wife, Doris “Tina”Hampton; eight children, Leigh (Dewayne) Marks of Decatur, AL, Vera (Anthony) Howard of Madison, AL, Brandon (Katrina) Green of Plano, TX, Margret Seals of Hillsboro, AL, Kelly Bentford of Trinity, AL, Bruce (Latasha) Hampton, Jr., Shatina Shackelford, and Dontosha Lyle, all of Decatur, AL; eleven grandchildren, DeAndre King, Montoya Brackins, Samia Davis, Alicia Mason, Zakiyyah Bentford, Makiya Mason, Zarria Smith, Brandon Green, Jr., Solan Marks, Braylon Hampton, and ShaKayla Houston; two God-given grandsons, Ja’Karian Draper and Atreus Garth; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Queen Hampton and Ann Hampton, both of Decatur, AL, Leeanna Marshell, Dorothy (Willie) King, and Janiel (Henry) Billen, all of Courtland, AL; fourbrothers, James Otis Hampton of Hillsboro, AL, Matthew (LindaFaye) Hampton, Rufus (Annie Faye) Hampton, both of Decatur,AL, and Leonard (Kathy) Hampton of Hillsboro, AL; and a host ofnieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
