Cameron Oneal Goode

Funeral Service for Cameron O. Goode,47, of Decatur, AL will be 1:00PM Saturday at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with Bishop Thomas D. Strong officiating. Inhumation will follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. Mr. Goode will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Cameron O’Neal Goode, affectionately known as “Rue” in his younger years and later as “Cam”, entered this life on Tuesday, September 27, 1977, and transitioned from his earthly vessel on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born in Morgan County, Alabama to Emmitt Goode, Jr. and the late Geraldine McGuire Goode.

Cameron attended Austin High School and later earned his General Education Diploma at Calhoun Community College, both in Decatur, AL. He also obtained his CDL and drove trucks for a while. Cameron aka ‘Cam’ was a committed Income Tax Professional at Goode Tax Service. He was an ordained minister and true music lover. He played the drums for different church organizations in North Alabama during his life.

At an early age he confessed Christ as Lord and Savior of his life at Pentecostal House of Prayer in Decatur, AL where he was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.

He loved to have fun-- driving, playing the drums, singing, laughing, eating, joking around, annoying people intentionally and sometimes unintentionally. He was a self-learner, good with his hands, and taught himself many things especially playing the drums and keyboard.  He loved the good thrill of a chance to win big on a good scratch off, lottery ticket, and slot machine. Guess what, the family knew when he hit because we just might get a gift.  Above all he was a father, son, brother, beloved family member, and friend who showed love in his own unique way.

Cameron leaves to cherish his life and memories his daughter, Destinee Goode; his father, Emmitt Goode, Jr.; his brother, Emmitt ‘Bo’ Goode, III; and his sister, Mary Austina Goode. His nieces: Sequoyah Goode, Micah Simone Clopton, Miciyah Goode, Emya Christopher, and Emmari Goode. His nephews: Emmitt Goode IV, Emmonte Goode, & Ammari ‘AJ’ Goode. His great nieces: Ezra Goode, Jovanni Austina Goode. His great nephews: Isiah Goode, Xylan Goode, Aden Williams, and Esiah Goode. His aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of family and friends. Cameron shared personal and meaningful bonds with many, each relationship carrying its own special place in his and their life.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Geraldine McGuire Goode, along with other close relatives who welcomed him home.
