Charles Edward (“Charlie Boy”) Johnson

Graveside services for Charles Edward “Charlie Boy” Johnson, 56 of Decatur Alabama will be Friday, October 29, 2021 1:00pm at Decatur City Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating.  Mr. Johnson transitioned on October 21, 2021 at the Decatur General Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Charles Edward (Charlie Boy) Johnson was born February 15 1965, to the late Rev. Maxie Vell Johnson and the late Ella Mae Sales Johnson in Trinity, AL.  He departed this life and gained his wings at Decatur General Hospital peacefully, on October 21, 2021.

Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Love Chapel C.M.E. Church in Trinity, AL.

Charlie Boy was a very loving and outgoing person who never met a stranger. He knew how to capture the attention of everyone in the room.  He loved life, his friends and especially his family. CB had a big heart, he loved hard and you knew it.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Maxie Vell Johnson and Ella Mae Sales Johnson; his grandparents, Robert and Louise Ingram Sales and Jeff and  Lizzie Young Johnson.

His memory will forever live in the hearts of: his wife, Brandi Johnson; his sons, Katarius (Reshieka) Johnson, Tyson Smith and Johnathan Freeman; stepdaughters, Sapharia Hall and Serenity  Hall; his brothers, Rex Byrd, Willie Johnson and Kenneth (Phyllis) Johnson; sisters, Margaret (Greg) Thomas, his beloved sister, Sherry Fuqua; stepsister, Rosie Burgess; uncles, Robert (Mary) Johnson, Bossie (Clara) Johnson, Dan Johnson, Melvin Dancy and Albert Elliott; aunts, Barbara Cowan, Novella Sales, Ophelia Cooper, Lucy Mae Johnson and Lena Johnson; seven grandchildren; a special long-time friend, Fred Fuqua; a host of nieces, nephews; a crew of special cousins, other relatives and friends.
