The late Cheryl E. Coleman was born to Robert and Katherine Driver Henry on October 11, 1958 in Decatur, Alabama. She was one of two children born to this union. She made her final transition on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Both of her parents and her brother Robert Henry Jr. preceded her in death.
Cheryl accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and lived the scripture Matthew 22:27, to the fullest, for she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. Cheryl was a true worshiper, who poured out worship to the Lord until her final breath. Outreach and advocacy was her true passion and she served those that God entrusted to her with a compassionate servant’s heart.
Cheryl served in outreach ministry, but her outreach to the community was strengthened when she received her Bachelor and Master’s degree in social work from Alabama A&M University. She also received her license as an Independent Clinical Social Worker, with the state of Alabama. With her degree and compassion for people, Cheryl worked with and served at-risk children and teens, counseled those who battled with drug and alcohol addiction, and worked beyond the call of duty to serve veterans through her position as a social worker for the Department of Veterans Affairs until her retirement in 2021.
She leaves her love and peace to her husband of 33 years, Charles Coleman Jr. She leaves a legacy of love, strength and perseverance to always be remembered by her children Charles Coleman III, Lauren Coleman and Christina Coleman and her nephew Jared Henry. Cheryl leaves a host of other relatives and friends including the Henry, Driver and Holliday family to carry on her legacy of compassion, servanthood and love
