Christopher Fletcher Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Christopher Lamar Fletcher, 50 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Sterrs Cemetery with the Reverend Eddie L. Walton, Jr., officiating. Public viewing will be Thursday from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Christopher was born on March 2, 1971 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Eddie L Walton Sr and Frances L Fletcher on Sunset Drive. He departed this life on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital with his loving daughter by his side.

Christopher, who was affectionally known as “Clamp”, accepted Christ at an early age and later joined New Beginnings Covenant Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Eddie L Walton Jr. He was a faithful member for 20 years.

Chris worked at J.M. Smucker Company for five years.

 He was united in Holy Matrimony to Tracy Steele and to this union one beautiful and devoted daughter, Megan, was born. Chris loved and adored his daughter and granddaughter and would do anything for them. He loved all his family! Chris was the life of any party, he lived life out loud, was adventurous, and courageous. Chris also loved to Gamble! To know Him was to love him.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, two brothers, (Dewayne Fletcher and James Fletcher), five sisters, (Vanessa Fletcher, Debroh Fletcher, Karen Shackleford, Sharon Fletcher, and Barbara Ann Jamar-Walton).

Chris leaves to cherish his precious memory: a loving daughter Megan Fletcher; a granddaughter, Laynah Sherrod; a loving fiancé, Carleen Bailey; a stepmother, Delois Harper; four brothers, Eddie L Walton Jr (Sakina), Roderick (Dannielle) Fletcher, Joe Walton, and Jason Harper, five sisters, Sandra Fletcher, Nancy Fletcher, Merisa (Jeff) Parker, Kimberly Marshall Walton, and Kira Walton, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Fletcher transitioned on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.
