Claudia Ruth (Bouldin) Young

Homegoing Service for Mrs. Claudia Bouldin Young, 74 of Courtland, Alabama will be 1:00PM Saturday at Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church with the Rev. David Young officiating. Inhumation will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Claudia Ruth Bouldin Young, was born on February 11, 1950 in Trinity, Alabama to the late Anderson Bouldin and the late Mary A. Clay Bouldin of Trinity, Alabama. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Love Chapel C.M.E. Church in Trinity, Alabama. She later joined Jackson Chapel C.M.E. Church, Courtland, Alabama where she remained a faithful member. Claudia Young was a CNA for over 40 years at West Morgan Health Care and Decatur Health and Rehab until retirement. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her whole family. Anyone that met her would be greeted with a gentle smile.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, three brothers, Anderson “Red” Bouldin, Jr., George C. Bouldin and Jimmy Bouldin; three sisters, Alice Young, Doris Bouldin Carter and Virginia Woodruff; a granddaughter, Maliyah Young.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory; two daughters, Ann (Fredrick)Abernathy and Mary Young of Courtland, AL; two sons, Scottie Young, Thomas (Charmetrice) Young, Jr. of Hillsboro, AL and Tempest Young, bonus daughter; four granddaughters, Zaria Abernathy, Ashaya Young, Camille Young and Kwamirah Young; two grandsons, Anderson(Jahleesa) Young and Fredrick Abernathy II; one great grandson,Anderson Felix Young; two sisters, Minister Cormelia A. Turner of Decatur and Clara Smith of Hillsboro, AL; five brothers, Mizell (Gloria) Bouldin, Minister Sammie K. (Pairese) Bouldin, Charles Sales all ofDecatur, Jerry L. Bouldin of Trinity, AL, Marvin (Roselyn) Sales ofLouisiana; five sisters-in-law, Trullie Watkins, Celestine (James) Gholston, Jeanette Young all of Decatur, Cassie Battle of Huntsville, AL and Frances Ann Young of Hillsboro, AL; two brothers-in-law, Rodney(Donna) Young, Decatur, Roy (Minita) Young of Hillsboro, AL; very special,devoted best friends, Delorice Franklin and Kim Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends
