Graveside Service for Mr. Cornnell Jackson,79, of Valhermoso Springs, AL will be noon Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Curry’s Chapel C.M.E Church Cemetery in Valhermoso Springs , AL with the Reverend Pastor Ophelia Davis officiating and Reverend Edward Martin Eulogist.
Mr. Cornnell Jackson was born June 8, 1946, in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama to the late Hundley Oscar and Gela Odessa Jackson. He departed this life on October 5, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Jackson confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and joined Curry’s Chapel C.M.E Church and remained a devoted member as a Steward and Trustee until his death.
Cornell attended Morgan County Training School in Hartselle AL, where he then went on to be employed at 3M as Chemical Technician for over 30 years. He had a passion for music whereas in his spare time he was a DJ, known as Papa Rock. Cornnell also loved being outdoors with a love of hunting and fishing. He had the biggest heart and was very devoted to his family, friends and loved ones.
Preceding his death were his parents; six sisters, Pearl Jennings, Melita Tapscott, Edie Batts, Bessie Romine, Viney Jackson and Ollie Quarmiley; three brothers, Acie Jackson, Oscar Jackson Jr, and R.D Jackson. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory: his devoted special friend and companion, Bertha Lee Sharpley of Somerville AL; a brother, Dehorice Jackson of Dayton, OH; a devoted nephew, Willie Mayes Jackson of Decatur, Alabama; two special devoted great nieces; Nadia Batts of Durham, North Carolina and Nedine Batts of Huntsville, Alabama; a very special great great niece Alivia Turner of Huntsville Al, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Jackson transitioned on Sunday, October 5 2025 at his residence
