Funeral Service for Mrs. Debra Scott,55 of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00AM Saturday, April 4, 2026 in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Deborah Holland Morgan officiating. Mrs. Scott will in repose one hour prior to service. 

Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, please make your charitable donations to Reynolds Funeral Home.

Debra Denise Langford-Scott was born in Decatur Alabama on June 13, 1970, to the late Charles L. Langford Sr. and Margaret Ann Kelley-Langford. She transitioned on March 26, 2026 at Decatur Morgan Hospital- Decatur General Campus.

She was preceded in death by: her father,  Charles L. Langford Sr; brother Charles L. Langford Jr; nephew, Gregory O’Neil Langford; grandparents, William and Isabel Lankford and Mary A. Kelley-Jones; uncles, Wendell Scott, Bobby Lee Bell, John “Johndoe” Langford, O’neal Langford, John Williams, John Cable Sr; aunts, Donna Kay Cooper (Thomas); Maletha Gholston, Christine Freeman, Willie Mae Ricks, Shelia Iyobebe; mother-in-law, Betty Jean Gaiter; father-in-law, Clifton Scott; sisters-in-law, Lisa Joy, Carolyn Turner (James); other in-laws, Michael Gaiter, Terrance Gaiter and April Scott.

As a youth, Debra dedicated her life to Christ at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church that guided her to live a life full of love for her family, friends and to those whom she came into contact. She had a smile and laugh that was contagious and a giving heart to those in need.

Debra attended Austin High School where she met lifetime friends. After high school she attended International Career Institution where she earned a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  After working in the medical field for many years “Deb- Deb” became a wife to Carl Scott on August 2, 1992, and a full-time mother to a beautiful daughter. In later years Debra worked in the Dry Cleaning and manufactory industry.  In the last few years Debra became full of joy because she was blessed with her first grandchild who was the apple of her eyes.

She is survived by: her husband, Carl C. Scott of Decatur; one daughter , Chyna Scott of Decatur; one brother, Gregory L. Langford of Decatur; one grandson,Esiah Goode of Decatur; one niece, Ka’ree Langford; nephew, Lorenzo O’Bryan Langford; two great nieces, Ta’laya R. Langford, Destin A. Langford; one great nephew, K’mauri Williams; one brother-in law, Lavoris Scott of Huntsville; eight sisters-in-law, Sherrie Gaiter, Angela Scott, Julia Caldwell, Doris Scott, Deborah Moore (Kenneth), Vicky Wallace, Mary Petty all of Huntsville, and Demetra Robinson of Decatur; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
