Delilah (Sawyer) Fletcher

Graveside Service for Mrs. Delilah Fletcher ,95, of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Sterrs Cemetery with Dr. G. Lynne Herring officiating. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service.  Mrs. Fletcher transitioned May 17, 2024, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Delilah was born January 6, 1929, to the late Leona Sawyer.  She was raised by her aunt the late Amanda Sawyer Sims Dabney. She departed this life on May 17, 2024.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, aunt, husband; her sisters, Bonnie Sawyer, Betty Sawyer, Viola Mayes Rainey, Ernestine Dabney Vickers, Catherine Dabney; brothers, Claude Sawyer, Floyd Sawyer, James Mayes, Henry Mayes; and son, Nathaniel Fletcher.

Delilah is survived by: Loving Children, Nathan Fletcher (Tiffany) of Decatur, Beverly Gordon (Robert) of Meridianville, AL; sister, Mable Dabney Harris; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 15 great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Special Daughter, Lyle Blythe.

  There will be no public viewing.
