Graveside service for Ms. Deloise Taylor, 67 of Decatur, Alabama will be 10:30 Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Calvary Memorial Gardens with the Reverend William Tyes officiating. Public viewing will be Saturday from noon till 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Deloise Taylor was born in Decatur, AL on December 30, 1952 to Elnora Miller and the late Collis Brooks. She departed this life on August 5, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She attended Austin High School and was gainfully employed at Delphi for 29 years. After retirement, she was employed with Decatur City as a school crossing guard, where the children loved her.
Lois, as she was affectionately called, was baptized at an early age and was a member of Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant of God. She enjoyed having the opportunity of working in the kitchen.
Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and daughter who loved baking her famous cupcakes for her family, friends, neighbors and her community. She was well-known for her infamous baked goods.
She was preceded in death by: her father; her son, Keith Taylor; her brother, Clarence Taylor and her sister, Edna Taylor; grandson, Jock Taylor, Jr.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory: a loving mother, Elnora Miller of Decatur; two dedicated children; Jock (Joyce) Taylor of Ardmore, AL and Kenya Taylor of Antioch, TN; loving sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Williams, Bonita (Enrico) Pickett, Carolyn Dixon, Fay Brooks, Vanessa Brooks and Marie Brooks; brothers, Larry and Collis Brooks; seven grandchildren, Farrah (Billy Wayne) Bell, Keithen Bell, Camill Langford, Ebony (Demond) Taylor, Derrick Thompson, Jaylyn Simpson and Tylon Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Jamira Cunningham, Delajhia Underwood, Aree Ivey and Demaree Ivey; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
