A Celebration of life of the Reverend Delorn Caldwell, 80 of Murfreesboro, TN and formerly of Decatur will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Dylan Woodall officiating. Public viewing will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Delorn Caldwell was born on January 22, 1941 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late James Crawford Caldwell and Berta Mae Mullins Caldwell Reynolds. He departed this life on May 25, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Delorn Caldwell accepted Christ and an early age and was an associate minister at First M.B. Church in Decatur.
He was a 1961 graduate of Lakeside High School where he played football. He later attended A & M and was an avid fan of Alabama football annually attending the Iron Bowl. He was a sports enthusiast that really favored football more than other sports. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served during the Vietnam Era and obtained the rank of Sergeant.
Delorn was an intelligent, fun-loving, caring person that enjoyed conversing with anyone. He was delighted to eat and especially at buffet-styled restaurants.
He was preceded in death by: children, Eric Caldwell, Monique Caldwell, John Caldwell, Charles Caldwell; his parents; and siblings, David Caldwell, James Caldwell, Edgar Reynolds and Beatrice McClendon.
He is survived by: his children, Lonnie Caldwell of Redland, CA, Vedetta Caldwell, Taira Caldwell Tilley both of Atlanta, GA, Tyrone Caldwell of El Paso, TX, Sheree Caldwell Benson of Arlington, TN, Brian Caldwell of Huntsville, AL; siblings, John F.(Marcie) Caldwell of Cleveland, OH, John B. Reynolds of Lacey Springs, AL, Mary E. Caldwell of Louisville, KY, Betty Troupe of Huntsville, AL; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
