Graveside Service for Mr. Deran Jermaine Hill, 41 of Decatur, Alabama will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Sterrs Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Edward Owens officiating . Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00pm - 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Deran was born in Decatur, Alabama on March 26, 1980 to Doris Jean Hill and Billy Ryan. He gained his wings on April 1, 2021 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Deran graduated from Decatur High School with the Class of 1998 and entered Job Corps after graduation in San Francisco, California. He returned from California to be with his mom before her passing. Deran was beloved for his infectious smile, big personality, kind heart, and love for cooking. He was a sous and pastry chef at Josie’s in Downtown Decatur.
Deran joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he confessed his hope in Christ. Deran was a member of the praise and dance ministry and would gladly help wherever needed. His life was cut short by an unfavorable circumstance, but his love of life will continue to live on through his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Ollie Sr. and Irene Troupe; and a special aunt, Brenda Nash.
Deran was loved by many and will forever be remembered by those who cherish his memory: an aunt, Sharon Whitfield; an uncle, Ollie Troupe Jr. (Lisa); and a very special cousin, Sherell Nash all of Decatur, Alabama; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
