Donald Lee Orr

Graveside Service for Mr. Donald Orr, 69 of Huntsville, Alabama will be noon Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Currys Chapel Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Oscar Montgomery officiating. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00 PM till 6:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Donald Lee Orr was born on September 4, 1952 in Somerville, Alabama to the late Wilma and Arlene Emerson Orr. He departed this life on March 16, 2022 at his home in Huntsville, Alabama.

At an early age, he attended Morgan County Training School and graduated in 1970. After graduation, he attended Calhoun Community College and Alabama A&M University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1979. After college, he became employed with the State of Alabama at J. F. Drake State Technical College in Huntsville, AL. He remained employed there for over 30 years. In 2012, he finally retired from the State. In his spare time the continued to enjoy cooking, grooming his lawn, creating a garden and flower bed, and helping and tending to his family.

In 1982, he met Ms. Doris Crittenton Orr and they were joined in holy matrimony.

He was preceded in death by one brother, the Reverend Paul Orr, and one sister, Dorothy Orr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Doris Orr; one brother, Luther (Virenda) Orr; one stepdaughter, LaTongia (LaVance) Griffin of Ardmore, AL; three step-grandchildren,  LaVance Jr., LaShay, and Latasha Griffin; special close cousins, James (Annie) Gurley of Huntsville, AL, Calden (Toney) Hall of Hampton, VA, Coretta Gurley (Stanley) Tillman of Vicksburg, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
