Donnie Loyd Aldridge, Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Donnie Loyd Aldridge, Jr. 42 of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Reverend Charlie Bates, Jr. officiating. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00 PM till 5:30 PM and the family will receive friends from 5:30 PM till 6:30 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 
 
Donnie Loyd Aldridge Jr. was born to Loretta Swoopes Cooper and Donnie Aldridge Sr. on November 4, 1979 in Morgan County, Alabama. He received his wings in Decatur, Alabama on June 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He accepted Christ at a very early age under the leadership of the late Pastor John Gladney and joined Mallard Creek Church. 

Jr. lived a life of fun and adventure and he loved his family in his own way. After becoming ill, he returned home to live with his parents. 

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Gilvester Yarbrough, Robert Jr. Swoopes, Mary Frances Aldridge, and Elbert Sanders; two sisters, Minister Fannie Davis, and Pastor Linda Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his devoted mother, Mrs. Loretta Swoopes Cooper (Carl); his father, Donnie Aldridge Sr. all of Decatur, AL; a loving son, Trenton Heflin of Trinity, AL; 22 siblings, (sisters) Kawanna Stephenson, Keita Gladney (Terrence), Kellie Davenport (Kevin), Carolyn Cain, Dorothy Settle (James), Ruthie Garret, Angela Ayers, Faith Gladney (Dometric), Kourtney Henderson, (brothers) Donnie Jones, Donald Jones, Charles Williams, Montrell Cooper, John Scott (Catherine), Pastor Sammy Foster (Sheila), Michael Gladney (Sabrina), Nathan Gladney, James Gladney, Paul Gladney (Chandor), Timothy Gladney (Victoria), Percy Gladney (Veronica), Wesley Henderson (Shenina); a very special niece/sister Kenyetta Aldridge; grandfather, Mr. Charlie Bates (Bernice); 15 aunts, eight uncles; three great aunts;, Annie Crittendon, Catherine Yarbrough, Sally Yarbrough; two very special cousins, Ronnie Aldridge Jr. and Timothy King; a special and dear friend/nurse, Christy Heflin; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
