Funeral Service for Minister Ms. Dora Truelove, 60, of Decatur, AL will be noon Friday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Eddie Walton officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. Minister Truelove will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
On February 21, 1965, God saw fit to bestow upon Mary Alice Bates and Levolia Hill a gift of a daughter, Dora Kay Hill Truelove. God called her to eternity on February 13, 2026 at her residence in Decatur, Alabama. Though her journey seemed to end too soon, she understood that her assignment was complete. Dora was a graduate of Decatur High School.
Dora lived to serve for many years as a minister for the Word of God. She not only served her community providing assistance to the relief efforts in Biloxi, MS after Hurricane Katrina, but also volunteered in her local shelters.
She was a beacon of strength, light and faith to those who knew and loved her. Dora served as former pastor of Curry Chapel in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama, Ward Chapel in Somerville, Alabama and many other churches in the CME Association.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; Mary Alice Bates andLevolia Hill; two sisters, Nellie White and Shirley Hill.
Dora was a loving mother to daughters; LaDiaz Hill and Yashika Hill; a devoted grandmother to Shikinah Sharpley, Gabrielle Sharpley, Ahmaad Pointer II, Manoah Hill and Hannah Hill; a beloved sisters to her siblings; and was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
