Doris Gean Miller

Funeral Service for Ms. Doris Gean Miller,66, of Decatur, AL will be 11:00AM Saturday at Triana C.P. Church with the Rev. James Childress Officiating and the Rev. Ernest Bailey Eulogist. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Doris Gean Miller, resident of Decatur, Alabama, passed away at Decatur General Hospital on January 28, 2025. Doris was born May 12, 1958, in Limestone County, Alabama to Thomas Miller, Sr. and Almeta Johnson Miller both of whom preceded her in death.

Doris joined New Zion MB church under the leadership of the late Pastor Jim Bailey and later united with New Heaven CPCA under the leadership of Pastor Ernest B. Bailey and currently under the leadership of Pastor Walter Jones.  Doris was a member of the New Heaven CPCA Choir.

Doris was educated and graduated from Tanner High School Class of 1976.  She was employed by Waynes Farms for twenty-five years until her retirement. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Almeta Miller, Sr.; her siblings, Leo Bailey, Sr., Pastor Jim Bailey, Anna Louise Carthen, Willie Mack Bailey, Thomas William Miller, Jr., Dorothy Jefferson, James Miller, and Ollie Mae Bailey.

Doris is survived by: her sons, Brandon M. Miller and Darian Q. Miller both of Decatur, AL; three grandchildren,  Kamryn A. Miller and Amiya G. Miller of Lewisburg, TN and Keelan R. Miller of Decatur, AL; sisters, Lois Bailey of Belle Mina, AL, Barbara Miller of Birmingham, AL and Marion (Leo) Douglas of Opelika, AL; brother, Stephen (Phyllis) Miller of Madison, AL;  aunts, Lena Cox of Madison, AL and Dolly Smith of Huntsville, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
