A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Dwight J. "Flip" Herring 62, of Hartselle, Alabama will be 1:00 pm Friday, March 13, 2020 at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Jarman officiating . Inhumation with military honors will follow in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Professional services entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Thursday from 12 Noon - 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Dwight Jerome Herring was born on April 28, 1957 to the late Mrs. Katie P. Herring Tapscott and the late Mr. Penteton Colquitt in Morgan County. Dwight entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, AL.
"Flip" as he was known to all of his family and friends was a member of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Hartselle, AL. He was a devout Christian. Flip was a graduate of Morgan County High School. He was an Army Veteran having served in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His loving memory will be cherished by: his devoted wife, Jean Herring of Hartselle, AL; son, Roger Orr; loving father, Samuel Tabscott; sisters, Anita Jones (Wayne), Monique Herring, Roschelle Johnson (Garrett); brother, Michael Tony Herring; aunts, Martha Jackson, Olean Herring and Beverly Young (Bill); grandchildren, Olivia Miller, Trevor Sharpley, Jeremy Hastings and Mercedes Burnett; four great-grandchildren; four special nephews, Isaiah Herring, Gary Orr (Maya), Michael ad Zeek Orr; special nieces, Nakia Jackson, Tasha Orr and Thomasa Orr; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
