Eddonis Birgan Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Eddonis Prince Birgan,60, of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2026 at Bethlehem P.B. Church with the Reverend Green Davidson IV officiating and inhumation in Decatur City Cemetery. Mr. Birgan will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral.

Public viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Eddonis was born August 1, 1965, in Hillsboro, Alabama, to Ida Birgan and Cleveland Jackson. He peacefully departed this life on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, dedication, and service to his family, church, and community.

At an early age, Eddonis accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful and dedicated member throughout his life. He faithfully served on the Trustee Board and was an active member
of the Men’s Ministry. His unwavering faith and willingness to serve were evident in everything he did.

Eddonis was a proud graduate of East Lawrence High School, where he excelled as a standout football player. His athletic talent and commitment earned him a place on the All Tri-County football team, an achievement that reflected his determination and competitive spirit. He was a faithful and dedicated Alabama fan.

Eddonis devoted more than 30 years of service to the General Motors Company, where he built a respected career before retiring. He was known as a hardworking, dependable, and dedicated employee whose work ethic earned the admiration of his colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Ora Birgan; father, Cleveland Jackson; and brother, Kenneth Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his devoted and loving wife, Rose Birgan of Decatur, AL; one devoted and dedicated son, Trayaun Birgan (Kendrika) of Double Springs, AL; one loving daughter, Starmeka Campbell, and one caring goddaughter, Destiny Campbell, both of Decatur, AL; two loving granddaughters, Alexus Campbell and Amarie Campbell, both of Decatur, AL; his adoring and caring mother, Ida Birgan of Hillsboro, AL; four devoted brothers, Ronnie Cohen (Lucy) of Hillsboro, AL, Michael Jackson (Gloria) of Decatur, AL, Charles Jackson (Sharon) of Memphis, TN, and Leon Jackson of Athens, AL; one sister, Cathy Jackson of Madison, AL; two loving aunts, Willadene Nash and Kathleen Burgin, both of Hillsboro, AL; four dedicated nephews, LaRon (Ashley) Cohen, Kevin (Jaqualine) Cohen, Travis Campbell, and Nathan Campbell, all of Decatur, AL; one caring sister-in-law, Carol Campbell of Somerville, AL; six kindhearted brothers-in-law, Felix Campbell (Sierra), Billy Campbell (Franzetta), Tommy Campbell (Donna), and Je Campbell, all of Somerville, AL, Josh Campbell (Leana) of Huntsville, AL, and Kenneth Campbell (Trenia) of Triana, AL; two very special friends, Warren Hill of Hillsboro, AL, and David Cohen of McDonough, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews ,cousins, relatives, and friends.
