Mr. Evans transitioned June 24, 2026 at his residence.

Eric Ray Evans, known as “Frog” to many, was born on September 22, 1974, in Decatur, Alabama, and grew up in Athens, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Ray Evans and Carol Evans. Eric passed away on June 24, 2026, in Decatur, Alabama, surrounded by family and friends after a long battle. Eric is leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles to all who knew and loved him. The greatest joy of Eric's life was his family. He shared a deep and devoted love with his wife, Summer Loraine Cripple Evans, and loved his daughters, Emily Evans and Halee Evans. Whether at home or on the road, Eric had a way of making every day an adventure. He had a passion for music, loved comedy, and never missed an opportunity to create lasting memories with the people he loved. Eric lived life with an open heart, a contagious laugh, and a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable adventures. His favorite words, "e; I love you most, & quote; became a promise that will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends. Eric attended Calhoun Community College and dedicated 25 years of his life to serving others as an Intermediate EMT. He answered countless calls with compassion, skill, and a calm presence, helping people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. His servant's heart continued through his volunteer work with Amedisys Hospice of Decatur, and he was a member of The Pilot Club of Decatur. His faith was an important part of his life as a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. One of Eric's favorite quotes beautifully reflect the friendships he cherished: " Many people walk in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart. "e— Eleanor Roosevelt.

Eric's footprints are everywhere. They can be found in the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, the adventures he inspired, and the love he freely gave. To the Amazing Hospice Team at Amedisys Hospice of Decatur, our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness you showed Eric during his time on hospice. The dignity, comfort and peace you provided in his final hours meant more to us than words can express.
