Eric Allen Pope

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Eric Allen Pope, 60 of Decatur, AL. will be noon Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at King’s Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Roderick Stallworth officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 10-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home. 
 

Eric Allen Pope was born October 13, 1959 to B’Countess Hale Pope and the late
Leon Pope in Sylacauga, Alabama. He joined King’s Memorial United Methodist Church as a child. He departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Decatur, Alabama.

Eric graduated from Austin High School in Decatur, Alabama. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was discharged as a Sargeant after eleven years of service. After service, Eric returned to Decatur to reside.

Eric was united in Marriage to Marsheeda Pope and they had one son Johnathan Keith Pope. Eric also had four other children Charles Allen Pope, Nicholas Andrue Pope, Kendrick Alexander Pope and Kiona Meshae Pope. He was loved by anyone that came in contact with him.

After leaving service, Eric started his own window cleaning business and worked in that capacity until death.

Eric had a quiet spirit. He was highly knowledgeable, especially about aircrafts specifically F-16’s. He loved playing video games, was an avid Auburn sports fan and loved going to Talledega Superspeedway.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Leon. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his mother, B’Countess Hale Pope, his children Johnathan, Charles, Nicholas, Kendrick and Kiona Pope; his sister Countess Danette Pope Cary (Sterling) and his brother Ezzard Charles Cook (Alberta) and a host of nephews, cousins, relatives and cherished friends.
