Erica Nichole Banks

A Celebration of Life for Ms. Erica Banks, 46, of Decatur, AL will be 12:00PM Saturday at Christ Holiness Temple Church. There will be no public viewing. 

Erica Banks was born on April 25, 1979, to Evangelia Banks and Victor Banks Sr. in Decatur, Alabama, at Decatur General Hospital. At an early age, she was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the Holy Ghost.

Erica attended Decatur High School and graduated with the Class of 1997. She later devoted much of her life to caring for others and building a career in childcare.

Erica truly enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She dedicated herself to being the very best grandmother and business owner she could be. Erica loved her coworkers at Pleasant Haven and proudly built a career in childcare. As the devoted owner of her daycare business, she found great fulfillment in caring for children and creating a loving, safe environment for families within her community.

Erica also enjoyed family gatherings and was actively involved in her church and community. She carried herself with grace and confidence, always making sure she looked her very best. More importantly, she created spaces where children felt safe, loved, and encouraged to grow.

On March 10, 2026, Erica was reunited with her Father in Christ and her two sons, Roger Banks and Ramon Banks. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Preston and Dora Banks, and Perry Sr. and Willie Mae Freeman.

Erica leaves to cherish her loving memory her parents, Victor Banks Sr. and Evangelia Banks; her children, Alyveya and Akarah Banks; and her beloved grandchildren, Averri Garth, Axton Garth, Qu’mariion Turner, Londyn Pleasure, Lenyx White, Legend White, and Laityn Langford. She is also survived by her siblings, Victoria and Victor Banks Jr., along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Erica made a friend everywhere she went and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her smile, her laughter, and her beauty will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
