A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Estella F. Murray, 78 of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Macedonia CP Church in America with Dr. G. Lynne Herring officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 12-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Estella Fossett Murray was born on April 29, 1941 to Oscar Fossett and Melba Johnson in the Cedar Lake Community of Morgan County, AL. She departed this life on February 8, 2020 in Decatur, AL.
Estella accepted Christ at an early age. Estella attended school in the Decatur City School System, graduating from Lakeside High School.
Estella was employed with the Holiday Inn, where she worked for many years, retiring as supervisor of the kitchen. Everyone loved to eat her food, at work as well as at home.
Estella was the Matriarch of the family. She loved her family very much. Estella was a very loving and caring person, opening her arms and heart to everyone that knew her. She never met a stranger.
Estella was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Heather Murray; and one son, Jeffery Murray. Estella will be missed, but never forgotten.
Estella leaves to cherish her precious memory: a son, Marvin Jamar Davis (Natalie Renee) of Decatur; granddaughter, Jayma Fowler of Nashville, TN; sisters, Patricia Lewis (Mack), Regina Dean (Micheal) of Decatur, and Denise Mason, of Chicago, IL; a devoted god-son, Jeffery Ross of Decatur; very devoted friends and cousins Louise Tapscott, and Terry Scruggs; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and she loved dearly.
