Graveside Service with military honors for Mr. Eugene Cohn, 73 of Decatur will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend Rose Allen officiating and the Reverend Ophelia Davis eulogist.
Eugene was born in Trinity, Alabama on May 15, 1947 to the late Minor Cohn Sr. and Georgia Fletcher Cohn. He passed away September 27, 2020 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, He attended Morgan County Training School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He retired from 3M Corporation and was a member of Love Chapel C.M.E. Church.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Evelyn Moore Cohn and to this union two children were born, Juan and Frederick Eugene Cohn.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, his parents, one sister, Patricia Cohn and three brothers, Bobby, Leonard and Anthony Cohn.
He is survived by: his children, Shawn (Pam) White of Huntsville, Fredrick Eugene Cohn, Juan (Lakesha) Cohn, Shannon W. Raybon all of Decatur; nine grandchildren, George Davis, Stavalas Hampton, Raeshad Harris, Jamares Cowley all of Decatur, Adasia Tabor-Cohn of Escondido, CA, Josh and Jarius Williams, Shawn White Jr. and Shameka White all of Huntsville; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janice (James) Pointer, Shelia (Rev. Sammie) Foster and Paula (Jessie) Moody all of Decatur; one brother Minor (Reva) Cohn of Jacksonville, AR; two aunts, Recordia Birgans and Delilah Fletcher both of Decatur; wo sisters-in-law, Mary Cohn of Decatur and Nyla Cohn of AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Honorary Flower Bearers will be nieces and pallbearers will be nephews.
