Fashonda Lachelle (Bass) Burgess

Funeral Service for Ms. Fashonda Bass-Burgess, 38, of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00PM Thursday at Macedonia C.P.C.A. Church Inhumation will follow in Roselawn Garden of Memory. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Fashonda Lachelle Bass-Burgess was born on February 13, 1985, to Pamela Bass and the late Eric Holland in Decatur, Alabama. She departed this life on December 5, 2023, at UAB Hospital unexpectedly.

FASHONDA accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church now known as El Shaddai Ministries. She was employed at Taco Bell in Fultondale, as a General Manager. She enjoyed her job and loved her staff.

FASHONDA’S love for her children, nieces, and family was truly extraordinary. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and caring for them, creating a strong and loving family bond that will forever be cherished. Her unconditional love and dedication will be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rev. Charles and Ruby Mae Holland, her aunts Patricia Anderson, Sharon Dowdy, and her uncle, Larry R. Bass.

FASHONDA is survived by her spouse, Daniel Burgess, and their four children; Hezekiah Bass of Tuscaloosa, AL, Serenity Bass, Zimara Bass, and Malaya Bass all of Hoover, AL; mother in law, Luvonia Love (David) of Birmingham, AL; father-in-law, Roy Burgess of Decatur, AL; three sisters, Michelle Bass, and Teairra Bolden (Micheal) both of Decatur, AL, and Misty Holland of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Dominique Bass of Decatur and Eric Holland III of Chattanooga, TN; three brothers-in-law, Jeremy Burgess (Tasha), Omar Burgess, and Roy Burgess Jr, all of Decatur, AL; five aunts, Kathy Bass Jones (Larry) of Cincinnati, OH, Teresa Cosby (Al) of Birmingham, AL, Connie Smith (Ronnie), and Stephanie Jones (Fred) of Decatur, AL, and Minister Debra Morgan of Chattanooga, TN; two uncles, Jimmy L. Bass of Decatur, AL and Stanley Holland of Atlanta, GA, four nieces, Essence Boykin of Florence, AL, Alani Ingram, Kimora Moody, and Everest Bass all of Decatur, AL; maternal grandparents, Jimmy Bass Jr. and Betty J. Bass both of Decatur, AL and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
