Funeral service for Mr. Fernando “Fruitney” Ford will be Saturday, December 27, 2025 at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church. Mr.Ford will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday from 1PM—4PM on Friday at Reynolds Funeral Home.
FERNANDO "FRUITNEY" FORD was born on May 4, 1958, in Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama, to Annie Ford and Willie Ford.
At a young age, Fernando confessed his life to Jesus Christ and joined the First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama.
Fernando Ford was a 1976 graduate of Austin High School. He continued his education at Calhoun Community College and Alabama A&M University and proudly served several years in the United States Navy.
Fernando had a lifelong love of sports, especially football, baseball, and basketball, and he enjoyed playing with the Decatur A's. He also loved card games and treasured road trips with his mother and sister, creating memories filled with laughter and connection.
Fernando was a person who brought joy into every room he entered. He never met a stranger and was deeply loved by friends and family alike. His true purpose in life was the gift of joy which he freely gave to everyone he met.
God called him home on December 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ford; great-grandmother, Lillie White; grandmother, Millie Campbell; nephew, Terrance L. Stevenson; and several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories with many loved ones: his son, Fernando M. Ford (Janell); daughter, Katrina Moore Hugley (Darryl); eight grandkids, Alexis Orr, Londyn Orr, Demarus Ford, Cash Macklin, Graceleigh Ford, Jabari Moore, Kinsley Ann Moore, and Kendall Moore; mother, Annie D. Ford of Decatur, Alabama; three brothers, Willie Danny Ford (Anita) of Decatur, Alabama, Bobby Ford of Decatur, Alabama, and Torrance Ford (Janet) of Ringgold, Georgia; three sisters, Constance Senior of Decatur, Alabama, April Holcomb (Scott) of Collierville, Tennessee, and Alfreda Fowler of North Carolina; and he leaves behind many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
