With hearts both heavy and grateful, we celebrate the life of Frank Lyle, Jr., who departed this earthly life on January 27, 2025 in Austin, TX, at the age of 95. Born on May 26, 1929, in Trinity, Alabama, to the late Frank Lyle, Sr., and Mary Ann Wiggins, Frank lived a life marked by faith, service, and love.
Frank was a devoted follower of Christ, accepting the Lord at an early age. He was ordained as a Deacon at Philippian Baptist Church in Lima, Ohio, where he faithfully served for many years. Later in life, after the passing of his beloved wife, Merline E. Lyle, Frank moved to Austin, Texas, where he became a cherished member of David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. His unwavering faith was the foundation of his life, and he found great joy in sharing the goodness of the Lord with others.
A proud patriot, Frank served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, developing a deep sense of duty and dedication that remained with him throughout his life. He was honorably discharged on November 9, 1958, but his commitment to service continued in many ways. He was also a proud member of the Masons, where he formed lifelong friendships built on brotherhood and community service.
Frank dedicated over 50 years of hard work and loyalty to General Motors and the Ford Motor Company. His colleagues at Ford remained dear to his heart long after his retirement. A man of many passions, Frank found peace and fulfillment in tending to his garden, casting a fishing line, hunting, discussing politics, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He loved nothing more than gathering with loved ones, offering wisdom, encouragement, and stories that reflected his rich experiences and unwavering faith.
