Funeral Service for Mr. Freddie W. Simpson, 91 of Hillsboro, Alabama will be noon Friday at 1st Missionary Baptist Hillsboro with Rev. Gregory Willard, Jr. officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Freddie Simpson was bom to the late Annie D. Carter Simpson and John Simpson on October 23, 1932 in Lawrence County, Alabama. He departed this life on December 30, 2023, at his residence in Hillsboro, Alabama.
Freddie confessed a hope in Christ at an early ago. He was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, Alabama.
He was a graduate of Tennessee Valley High School. Freddie retired with thirty years of service for the United States of America. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for the United States Postal Service for over 28 years.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers, Rufus Simpson and Johnnie Simpson: sister, Sheryl McCray and a devoted wife of 65 years, Exodys Bankston Simpson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Marietta Hill and Daphne Simpson: three sons, Frederick Simpson, Steven (Birdester) Simpson and Bryan (Clynise) Simpson: three sisters-in-law, Curlie Horton, Juliet Foster, and Mattie Simpson: two brothers-in-law, Ernest Hall and Major Foster; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mr. Freddie (Pops) Simpon leaves a legacy of love to all. We were blessed to have met and known him.
