A Celebration of Life for Funita “Nae-Nae” Taylor-Gaines, 42 of Hartselle will be 1:00 pm Saturday at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with Bishop Thomas D. Strong officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Thursday from 3-7 and Friday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home. At the request of the family, there will be no family visitation on Friday..
Funita affectionally known as “Nae Nae”, was born on December 7, 1975, to Juanita and Willie (Pete) Taylor at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippine Islands. She gained her wings at the age of 42 on June 8, 2018 at UAB Hospital, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Funita attended Austin High School and continued her education at Calhoun Community College. The majority of her adult life, she devoted her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, aiding those who were unable to care for themselves.
Nae Nae, will be remembered by many for her caring and loving ways, and always willing to lend a helping hand, bringing a smile to many.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Frances Derrick and one aunt.
She is survived by: her three children, Alisha Taylor, M Taylor and Alex Taylor; her parents, Juanita and Willie (Pete) Taylor; siblings, Alexander McDaniel (Carmen), Felisha Strong (Cornelius), William Taylor and Davida Taylor; a host of many other family members
