Galvin Lydell Ricks was born in Athens, AL on a sunny and warm Tuesday, July 22, 1969, to the late Woodson Ricks, Sr. and Dorothy Rogers.  He passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Galvin, affectionately known as “Gator” loved fishing, hunting, baseball, doing carpentry work, and sweets, “he had a sweet tooth”. He loved his family more than anything. He was a fighter to the end.  He fought to stay here so that he could have more time with them

Galvin leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted

mother, Dorothy Rogers; brothers, Timothy Ricks, Stephanie Ricks (Regina), Woodson Ricks, Jr; sisters, Shannon Ricks, Greta Gibson (Leonard), Alice Kingston, Lisa Taylor; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him forever.

. Mr. Ricks transitioned May 6, 2024, at Huntsville Hospice Family Care.
