Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Glenda T. Warren McElrath, 74 of Moulton, Alabama will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Reverend Timothy Perryman officiating and inhumation to follow in Moulton Memory Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. McElrath was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on October 9, 1948 to the late Sterling Warren, Sr. and Thelma Louise McAfee Warren. She departed this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at NHC Healthcare of Moulton.

Glenda accepted Christ at an early age and united with Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church. She graduated from Moulton High School and later attended Alabama A&M University. She later relocated to Nashville, Tennessee where she was a former hotel clerk. She was united in holy matrimony to Willie T. McElrath and to his union, one child was born, Warren Jamil McElrath. When Mrs. McElrath health began to decline, they relocated back to Moulton, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sterling Warren, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Willie T. McElrath of Moulton; one son; Warren Jamil McElrath; one grandchild, Tamera McElrath both of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Meretta Carol Williams of Huntsville, AL, Carnette Burgess of Louisville, KY and Cynthia Jackson of Moulton; a brother, Billy Burgess of Huntsville, AL; one godson, Christopher Hubbard of Decatur; sisters-in-law, Sherry Kay James of Decaturville, TN and Valeria McElrath of Champagne, IL; three special cousins, Marquisa Hubbard of Decatur, Chrisanthia Hubbard of Moulton, AL, and Marcie Gilbert; of Decatur; special nephew, Claude Williams of Ambler, PA; special niece, Angela Williams-Freeman of Huntsville; her lovely dog, Max and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
