Harold Elliott Obituary

Funeral Service for Mr. Harold Elliott,73, of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:00PM Sunday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Dylan Woodall officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Saturday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Harold Gene Elliott “Duck”, was born on June 8, 1950, to the late Elex and Elsie Johnson Elliott, Sr., in Trinity, Alabama. He transitioned from this life on April 9, 2024 at his residence in Decatur, Alabama.

Mr. Elliott attended Moulton Heights School as a youngster. He confessed Christ at an early age and later joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. Harold worked at A&E for 17 years and retired from J&M Doors after seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Elex and Elsie Johnson Elliott, Sr; four sisters, Ruby Brougham, Leathan Hayes, Louise Elliott and Bernice Swopes; four brothers, Robert “John” Elliott, Elex Elliott, Jr., Albert “Bud” Elliott, and James Edward “Jimmy” Elliott; one niece, Connie Elliott; one brother-in-law, Willie Boykin; one sister-in-law, Wanda Jean Wilkerson Elliott, and other nieces and nephews.

Harold leaves to cherish in his memory; his loving wife, Irene Wiggins Elliott of 38 years of Decatur; two sons, Corey Wayne Horton, Harold Ray Swopes (Gina); one daughter, Kiesha Elliott; one stepdaughter, Tina Davis; three sisters; Sarah Boykin, Elizabeth Swopes (William) and Linda Watkins (Andrew) all of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Garvin and Ernestine Bell Elliott both of Decatur; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Wiggins of Decatur, Johnny Wiggins of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
