Hector Bob Mahaley, affectionally known as “Flick,” was born on Sunday, August 23, 1942, in Limestone County, Alabama; he was the oldest son of the late John B. Mahaley and Queen Esther Bledsoe Mahaley Wells. He departed this life November 15, 2024, at the Summerford Health & Rehab Center, Falkville, Alabama.

Hector accepted Christ and joined St. Stephen P. B. Church, under the leadership of Elder Christopher Collins.

An outgoing student, he was a 1961 graduate of Lakeside High School, in Decatur, Alabama. Upon graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Vietnam era veteran, enlisting July 6, 1961, and separating with an honorable discharge on June 23, 1964.  In 1975, he graduated from Calhoun Community College, receiving a technical degree.

He was anactive and longtime member in his local veteran’s community, serving in the American Legion Post 0310. More than anything, “Flick” enjoyed spending time with his family; and took pleasure as a retiree, sharing meals, laughing and joking with friends.
