Ira Beacher

Graveside Service for Mr. Ira Beacher, 81 of Decatur, AL. will be noon Sunday , February 7, 2021 at Calvary Memorial Gardens with Elder Dennis Green officiating. Public viewing will be Saturday from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. Mr. Beacher died on February 3, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital.  

Ira Beacher was born on August 7, 1939 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Brice Beacher and Lois Maggie Freeman. He departed this life on February 3, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL.

Ira was united in Holy Matrimony on June 2, 1978 to Eddie Mae Beacher, the love of his life. To this union two children were born, Mark Beacher and Dana Bowie.

Ira worked at Conagra Flour Mill as a packer for 30 plus years, until he retired. After Ira retired, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, watching western movies and wrestling. He and Mark would often hang out in the back yard working on something or playing with his day. They soon earned the name “Fred and Lamont”. Ira enjoyed the outdoors.

Ira leaves to cherish his loving memory: his loving wife of 43 years, Eddie Beacher; his children, Mark Beacher and Dana Bowie of Decatur, Stacy Suggs of Decatur and Perry Suggs (Marilyn) of Savannah, GA; one adorable granddaughter, Kennedy Christine Beacher of Huntsville, AL; four grandsons, Marquez Cohn of California, Mario Cohn of Decatur, Tarvis Robinson of Mt. Hope, AL and Chris Suggs of Decatur; his sister, Annette Graham of Russellville, AL; his brother, Carl Beecher (Mary Jo); a sister-in-law, Annie Cooper of Decatur; his aunt, Geadie Suggs (Charlie) of Landersville, AL; special cousins, Earl Matthews of Decatur; and Leon Freeman of Russellville, AL; a host of great grand kids, cousins, other relatives and friends.
