Funeral Service for Ms. Jacqueline Hampton, 59, of Courtland, Alabama will be noon Saturday at Bethlehem P.B. Church with Rev. Green Davidson IV officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. Hampton transitioned December 12, 2023, at her residence.
A hard-working, steadfast, and favorable person was the life of Jacqueline Rachell (more affectionally known as Jackie) Hampton. On December 12, 2023, she left this earthly home and arrived in Paradise.
Jackie Hampton was born on August 8, 1964, to the late Willie N. Hampton-King and Richard Mays in Courtland, Alabama.
Jackie accepted Christ at an early age and joined North Courtland Primitive Baptist Church, but later joined Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro where
she served faithfully and sung in the choir.Jackie was a loving kind-hearted person that loved her family and community. She often gave lessons to others on diabetes and kidney disease. She was always mindful of what she ate and encouraged many others to do the same.Jackie was a hard worker, starting at age 18 and worked steadily until her health began to fail her. She was employed with North American Lighting Company and she enjoyed her work. Jackie then took on the role of serving and caregiving to the elderly. She was great in this calling, and it fulfilled her life through this ministry.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother, Annie Hampton, grandfather, James Hampton brother, Waymon Hampton, and sister Mary Louise Turner.
Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, two loving and devoted daughters: Kiana Burgin of Madison. AL and Aundria Hampton of Decatur, AL; one devoted son, Xavier (Lisa) Hampton of Decatur, AL; eight caring and loving sisters; Brenda Hampton, Audrey Hampton, Christy (Brian) Moore and Tiffany Boyd of Courtland, AL, Olitia Hampton of Decatur, AL; Kimberly Hampton of Merrillville, IN, Emma Binford of Cincinnati, OH, and Edna (Tommie) Johnson of Courtland, AL; five dedicated brothers; Larry Hampton, Anthony (Lois Ann) Hampton both of Courtland, AL; Christopher (Tammy) Hampton of Decatur, AL; Russell (Denise) Smith and Charles Smith both of Cincinnati, OH; four loving grandchildren; Zykeria Bolding, Jamiracle Bolding, Ariene Hampton and Malachi Morgan, all of Decatur, AL; one loving niece, Ashley Hampton of Decatur, AL; four kind aunts; Ann Neva (Eugene) Penn of Chattanooga, TN; Charlene Brown of Tuscumbia, AL; Jamie McVay and Angela (Futeen) Munford both of Decatur, AL and Earlene Robinson of Florence, AL; 3 caring uncles; Edward Johnson of Chicago, IL, Oscar (Beluah) Johnson of Huntsville, AL and Otis (Anita) Robinson of Courtland, AL; one affectionate maternal mentor, Kathleen Burgin of Hillsboro, AL; two devoted brothers, chosen by love; Julian Burgin (Monica) of Hillsboro, AL and Craig (Malinda) Swoope of Madison, AL; three loyal and devoted friends Shirley Shackelford and Debra Miller both of Hillsboro, AL, and Linda Owens of Courtland, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
