It is with deep love and gratitude that the family of Jacqueline Harper announces her peaceful passing. Born in the Bronx, New York, on September 9, 1944, Jacqueline lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and devotion to the people she loved.
A Life of Care and Purpose
Jacqueline dedicated her career to supporting and advocating for individuals with special needs. Her work was more than a profession—it was a calling that reflected her generous heart and unwavering belief in the dignity of every person. Through her advocacy, she touched countless lives and offered comfort, guidance, and understanding to families and communities. She worked at Hartselle City Schools, volunteered at Terrell Industries, and was greatly involved with Decatur Special Olympics.
The Heart of Her Family
To her large and close-knit family, Jacqueline was the center around which everything revolved. She was a loving mother to four children, a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren, and a delighted great‑grandmother to 7 great‑grandchildren. Her home—and her presence—was a place of warmth, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Joys and Passions
Jacqueline found happiness in life’s simple, beautiful moments. She loved: Spending treasured time with her family Visiting the beach and basking in the sun Watching storms roll across the sky
Tending her plants and sharing them others. These peaceful passions reflected her spirit: grounded, joyful, and attuned to the beauty around her.
Her Legacy
Jacqueline’s legacy lives on in the countless people she uplifted, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely, including her children Mike (Sherry), Toni (Grier), Joe (Stacie), and James; her grandchildren Robin (Dewayne), Stephanie, Cassie, Drew (Karly), Kerra (Dawson), Zane, Dylan (SaraBeth), Tate (Maria), Seth, Sophie, and Quinn; her great‑grandchildren Alex, Emily, Tyler, Lily, Josh, Houston, and Hollyn; and her beloved siblings Pat DeBlasio and Jim O’Keefe (Patrick). Her memory will remain a guiding light—steady, comforting, and forever cherished.
