Graveside Service for Mr. Jameel Saleem Akbar Jackson 63 of Huntsville, AL and formerly of Decatur, AL. will be noon, Tuesday October 6, 2020 at Sterrs Cemetery. Public viewing will be Monday from 11-6 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Jameel S. Jackson, 63, of Huntsville, Alabama, was born November 15,1956 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Clarence E. Jackson and Annie Pearl Reynolds Jackson. He departed this life on October 1, 2020 at Madison Hospital.
JAMEEL graduated from Decatur High School in 1975 and then attended Calhoun Community College where he obtained a degree in Electronics. He retired from DaimlerChrysler where he was an electronic technician. After retirement, he was a Huntsville City Bus Driver and enjoyed every moment of it. JAMEEL was a mentor to all the kids in the community. He was an assistant director at the Boy’s Club in the 1970’s. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Decatur.
JAMEEL was a family person that loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family and living life to the fullest. He was a very loving person that will be missed greatly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles E. Jackson, Clarence E. Jackson, Eugene Jackson and his sister Helen Sanders.
JAMEEL leaves to cherish his memory; five children; Jamillah Jackson of Nashville, TN, Michelle Bass, Jamaal Jackson, and Ahmad Jackson all of Decatur, AL, and Keyonia Anderson of Huntsville, AL; three brothers; Jessie Jackson(Margaret); Russell Jackson (Kathy); and Greg Jackson (Dara) all of Decatur, AL. one godsister, Barbara Jo Collins of Huntsville, AL; three granddaughters; Essence Boykin, Avion Jackson, and Alani Ingram all of Decatur and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
