James Curtis "Buck/Slim" Coffey, Sr, 77, passed away on September 27, 2021. He retired from Henry Vogt Machine Company after 35 years of service. James graduated from Lakeside High School in Decatur, AL. He enjoyed watching westerns, listening to blues music and playing basketball. James loved doting on his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Francis Hayden and father, Robert L. Hayden.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years, Loretta Coffey; children, Tia Coffey, Kevin (Linda Michele) Coffey, Robert (Regina) Coffey and James Curtis (LaDonna) Coffey, Jr; grandchildren, Quinton, Whitney and Kameron; great-granddaughter, Alaska Marie and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel from 4pm-8pm.
