James Wray Matthews

Reynolds Funeral Home announces with passing of Mr. James W. Matthews, 66, of Decatur, AL. Mr. Matthews transitioned January 19, 2025, at Decatur Health and Rehab in Decatur, AL Mr. Matthews was born February 4, 1958, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late James Oliver and Martha Bernice Porter Oliver. He will be missed by all that knew him.  A special thanks to Mr. Tommy Cook, Mrs. Bobbie Cook, and Ms. Miracle Kirkland and the staff of EM &S Group Home for their acts of kindness, love and care they had shown to Mr. Matthews. 

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Porter, and sister Brenda Matthews. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters; Linda Porter, Carri Matthews, and Laura Matthews; two brothers; Sammy Porter and Matthew Porter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
