Funeral Services for Mr. James Oneal Johnson, 60, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon, Wednesday at Love Chapel CME Church with the Rev. James Coffey officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

James O'Neal Johnson was born February 28, 1964 to Abraham and Mamie Johnson in Trinity, Alabama. He received his heavenly wings on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Love Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Trinity, AL. James attended West Morgan High School. He was an avid sports connoisseur and of all the sports, he enjoyed basketball and football the most. His family will forever remember him as the Alabama Crimson Tide's number one fan.  He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. James enjoyed singing, often battling with his siblings to see whose voice sounded the best.  James was a lover of food from soul food to his favorite dessert, cheesecake. However the most important food that he loved was his spiritual food, The Holy Bible.

James was preceded in death by: his father, Abraham; his mother, Mamie; two nephews, Spencer Johnson and Damon Mason; one niece, Tanya Chatman; and one great nephew, Tyler Jones.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his daughter, Ivy Johnson of Decatur, AL; sons, Colby Johnson of Decatur, AL and Thomas Thornton of Huntsville, AL; four brothers, Sam (Victoria) Johnson, Abraham (Pattie) Johnson Jr., David (Anita) Johnson, and Curtis Johnson, all of Decatur AL; four sisters, Rose (Johnnie) Orr of Hartselle, AL, Linda (Reginald) Cosby of Athens, AL, Sonya (James) Mason, and Tammy (Michael) Staten both of Decatur, AL; two uncles, Bossie Johnson of Hillsboro, AL and Dan Johnson of Decatur, AL; two aunts, Lucy Johnson and Lena Johnson both of Decatur, AL; his best friend and brother, Eddie Brown. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
