James Vidale Rice

A Celebration of Life for Mr. James V. Rice 48 of Decatur, Alabama will be 2:00 pm Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Saturday from noon till 5:00 pm.

James Vidale Rice was born in Huntsville, AL on July 2, 1972 to Ada Rice Thomas.  He transitioned this life on April 19, 2021 at his residence in Decatur, AL.

James went to school in the Morgan County School System. He  was employed at Excel Interior Doors in Hartselle, AL.

He loved to get together for the holidays and BBQ’s that the family had so that they could enjoy one another. He had a big grin and a quirky laugh, and you knew it was him when you heard it.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Geneva and Maggie Rice Kyle; uncles, Robert Rice and Rodney Kyle; an aunt, Annie Mae Thomas.

James leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Kaliga Rice of Decatur; a son, Dadrian Rice of Decatur; his parents, Alvin and Ada Rice Thomas of Decatur; sister, Anna Rice (Wayne) of Decatur; uncles, Calvin Rice, Sol Thomas (Diane) of Huntsville, AL, Geneva Boomie Kyle, Danny Kyle of Lacey Springs, AL and Charles R. Thomas of Valhermosa Springs, AL; aunts, Gloria Matthews of Decatur, Regina McGlathery (Fred), Rosy Watkins (James) and Maggie Watkins (Thomas) of Huntsville, AL; a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
