Funeral Service for Mr. Jerry Louis Tucker 70 of Decatur, Al will be noon Thursday at Moulton Heights M.B. Church with Rev. Tracy Seltzer officiating and Bishop T.D. Strong eulogist. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Jerry Louis Tucker was born in Decatur, Alabama, on June 22, 1954, to the late Thomas James Tucker, Sr., and Lucille Glover Tucker. He departed this life on December 6, 2024, in Decatur, Alabama.
Jerry confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Moulton Hights Missionary Baptist Church, where he was currently a member.
He graduated from West Morgan High School and worked at 3M until his retirement. He owned and operated Kim’s Kennel, where he bred top quality German Shepherds. He won many competitions and was well-known and respected in his field.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Tucker, Jr.; brother, Alfred Tucker; and sisters, Gean Johnson and Felice Tucker.
Jerry leaves behind: his devoted and god-fearing wife of fifty-two years, Bessie Tucker, and their beautiful and loving daughter, Kimberly Tucker; his son, Ja’Corey “Jo-Jo” Tucker; siblings, Henry Tucker, Thomas Tucker, Jr., Patsy Gayle Thorne, and Forrest (Latonya) Tucker all of Decatur, Alabama; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jerry’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the pleasure of knowing him.
