Funeral Service for Mr. Jimmy Bass Jr., 90, of Decatur, Alabama will be 1:30PM Sunday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Benjamin Burt officiating. Inhumation will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Mr. Bass will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Saturday from noon until 4:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Jimmy Bass, Jr. was born on July 9, 1934, in Lawrence County to the late Jimmy Bass, Sr. and Margaret Bledsoe. He confessed his belief in Jesus Christ at an early age as a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. He ran a good race and fought a good fight; now he has gone on home to his Lord and Savior. He departed this life Monday, July 7, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital.
He was preceded in death five sisters: Mozella (WC) Watkins, Annie P. Bledsoe, Lottie Toney, Katherine “Kat” (Thomas) Cooper, and Lillie Bledsoe; three brothers, Willie Bledsoe, Henry Bledsoe, and David Bass; one son, Larry Ray Bass; and three grandchildren, David Marshall, Rashad Bass, and Fashonda Bass.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory and rejoice in his homecoming: four daughters, Kathy (Larry) Jones, Cincinnati, OH; Teresa (Al) Cosby, Birmingham, AL; Connie (Ronnie) S., and Pam Bass; one son, Jimmy L. Bass; nine grandchildren, Bruce Smith Jr., Michelle Bass, Fred (Alice) Marshall, Shenicka Jackson, Vyron Smith, Portia Marshall, Dominique Bass, Ashley Marshall, and Devante Bass; thirty three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
