Funeral Service for Mr. John Griffin Jr.,71, of Danville, Al. will be noon Thursday at Gibson Chapel Church with Bishop Gary Taylor Officiating and the Reverend Robert Yarbrough Jr., Host Pastor. Inhumation will follow in Lindsey Cemetery. Mr. Griffin will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 10:00AM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
John Olden Griffin was born on September 12, 1954, in Lawrence County, AL to the late John Olden Griffin and Flora Mae Taylor Griffin. He passed this life June 18, 2026, at 9:30 am at Summerford Rehab in Falkville, Alabama.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Gibson Chapel United Methodist Church. He graduated from Speake High School in 1974. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed basketball and football. His favorite team was the Auburn Tigers- “War Eagle”. He was employed at numerous places including Gillespie Egg Farm and Copeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Alvin Terry Griffin and Kevin Griffin.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Barbara (Waymon) Polk of Oakville, AL and Janice Griffin of Moulton, Alabama; brother,Thomas Jeffery Griffin of Moulton, AL; and a host of aunts, uncles and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
