Funeral Service for Mr. Jonathan Lamont Macklin,50, of Decatur, Alabama will be 11:00AM Saturday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Jones officiating. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday noon until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home
.Jonathan Lamont Macklin was born on January 18, 1974, to the late Alfred and Ethel Lee Jones Macklin in Lawrence County Alabama. Jonathan departed this life on June 11, 2024, at Alive Hospice Residence Center in Nashville Tennessee. Jonathan attended Florida Public Schools. Jonathan or “J Mac” as he was affectionately known by many of his family and friends, was married to Susan Humphrey-Macklin. His love for dogs was infectious. The last one being “Zoe” whom he registered as a therapy dog, was known to many as “A man’s best friend”. Jonathan enjoyed fishing, grilling, and facetiming his niece, Au Jurnee who she calls “John John”. Jonathan is preceded in death by his parent; his brother, Trentiss Macklin and niece, Ravan Macklin. Jonathan leaves to cherish his memory; his wife; Susan HumphreyMacklin; three daughters; Ariyana and Jonkeria Mackin, and Lyric Gilbert: two sisters; Sharon Macklin and Jannett Blevins (his favorite), one brother; Tyrone ( Keenya) Newman; one devoted niece and his ride or die, Quenisha Macklin and one devoted nephew, LaRondrick Macklin; two aunts; Emma Young and Elizabeth Jones; six uncles: Ronald Jones, Thomas ( Lucita) Jones, Robert (Toneyetta) Jones, Curtis Anderson Macklin, and Richard Jones; great nieces; Samarra, Breelyn, Brayleigh and Au Jurnee; great nephews; Kamaryon, Kash, and Brycen; and a host of cousins and frie Mr. Macklin transitioned June 11, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
