Funeral Service for Mr. Katarius Cornelius Johnson, 41, of Hillsboro, AL will be noon Monday at Wheeler Chapel Church with Bishop Thomas Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. Mr. Johnson will lie in repose one hour prior to service.
Public viewing will be Sunday from 1:00PM until 4:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Katarius C. Johnson, was born on January 15, 1984, to Fawn Moore and the late Charles Johnson. On Saturday, the 13th of December, 2025, God saw fit to pick one of his strongest flowers out of his garden. Katarius was a graduate of Hazelwood High School (11th State Championship), class of 2002. He loved them dearly. He went on to attend North East Mississippi College. He was employed at OCI Alabama, LLC.
Katarius confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Wheeler Chapel Church in Courtland, Alabama.
In 2006, Katarius met Reshieka Austin and on March 8, 2009, these two beautiful people exchanged vows in Gatlinburg, TN. God blessed Katarius with a big heart. His love for his friends and family was like none other. If you ask his friends, they all probably have a story to tell about Katarius, AKA “Pig.” Katarius’ true passion was coaching kids in football; we all know he loved the kids.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, the Reverend Maxie Vell Johnson and Ella Mae Saks Johnson, John Thomas, and Thomas Moore, Sr.
Katarius is survived by his wife, Reshieka Austin Johnson; children, three sons, Bralyn Robinson, Cayden Johnson, and Jaylen Sykes (nephew), and daughter, Aubree Johnson; goddaughters, Aniya Porter and London Jones; his mom: Fawn Moore and a stepfather that raised and loved him like his own Pernell Kennamore; grandmother, Bertha Moore; mother in law Nadine Austin; and father in law; Otis Austin; brothers, Pernell Kennamore, Jr., Tyson Smith, and Johnathan Freeman; brother in law; Michael( Victoria) Austin; goddaughters, Aniya Porter and London Jones; one special friend, Thomas Ricks. and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends
