Kim Jones Obituary

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, our beloved Kim Tallent Jones left this world suddenly and unexpectedly due to heart complications following two heart attacks.

Her heart, which had given so much love and care to others, simply grew too tired. Her passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, generosity, and joy will live on forever.

Born on April 3, 1964, in Decatur, Alabama, Kim was the eldest of two children born to Garry and Martina Tallent. She graduated from Austin High School with the Class of 1982 and began building a life with Levi Walls, the father of her children. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Erica Lynn Walls and Eric Levi Walls. Though Kim and Levi eventually went their separate ways, they remained devoted co-parents and close friends, always united in love for their family.

Years later, Kim found her soulmate in Gregory Jones. They married on September 2, 2011, and spent the next 18 years building a life filled with laughter, devotion, and shared joy. Watching their children grow into parents and becoming grandparents and eventually great grandparents was one of Kim’s greatest blessings. Doodle, her great-grandson, was the light of her life, and his laughter filled their home with happiness.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, William Garry Tallent.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Gregory Jones; her loving mother, Martina Tallent; her children, Erica Walls Evans and Eric Walls(Erin Walls); her brother, William Todd Tallent (Brandy Houser, affectionately known as “Sis”); her grandchildren, Robert Walls, Ladavia Billings (and family), and Braylon Evans; and her cherished great-grandson, Dah’mir

Morris—lovingly called “Doodle,” who brought endless joy to her days; her niece Kayla Tallent, nephew Caleb Johnson, niece Taleah Todd (Javon Todd), and many other nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.

Kim was a woman of extraordinary warmth and generosity. She gave freely and wholeheartedly, always putting others before herself. Whether it was her last dollar or a home-cooked meal, Kim made sure no one around her went without. Her cooking was legendary, she didn’t just feed her family, she nourished their souls.

She found fulfillment as a Mary Kay Consultant, where she built lasting friendships and embraced her passion for helping others feel beautiful inside and out. More recently, she enjoyed Door Dashing with her “Sis,” Brandy—cruising around town, sharing stories, music, and laughter. As Kim would say, “Till the wheels fall off.”

Kim’s presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her love was fierce, her laughter contagious, and her heart immeasurable. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every meal shared, every act of kindness, and every memory held close.
