Services for Ms. Kwan Monae Scott, 22 of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday October 16, 2021 at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Inhumation will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be Friday October 15, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. Ms. Scott transitioned on Monday, October 11, 2021 at her residence.
One beautiful winter morning on November 25, 1998, in Decatur, AL, God blessed the late Joe Scott and the late Trudie Hayes Scott with a beautiful baby girl whom they named Kwan Monae Scott. An angel, was dispatched from heaven on the afternoon of October 11, 2021 to bring her home to be with the Lord.
Kwan accepted Christ in June of 2010 and united with St. James CPCA in Decatur, AL under Pastor Micheal L. Jones. She was a member of the youth choir, ushers, Sunday school, Bible study, president of National Youth Work of the General Assembly, president of the Tennessee Valley Presbytery Youth Work, St. James Praise Team, member of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, and Alpha Omega Chapter at Alabama A&M University.
Kwan, was a very outgoing and loving person. She never met a stranger. She had a great love for people. She was a 2018 graduate of Austin High School and also Global Technical Institute with a degree in Welding in 2020.
Kwan was preceded in death by her parents; Joe F. Scott and Trudie Scott; grandparents, John H. Murphy, S. Robert Scott, Mr. Ezekiel Bailey.
Kwan leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted grandmothers, Ms. Lillie Murphy and Ms. Lovis Bailey; one brother, Codey R. Hayes; aunts, Shirley Mason (Paul), Denise Johnson, Amanda Spanler (Lee), Annette Bradley (Paul), Vickie Strong (Thomas) all of Decatur, Helen M. Trammell of Miami, FL and Angela Denise Sims of Huntsville, AL; uncles, Ray L. Hayes of Sylacauga, AL and Apostle W.C. Hayes of Lineville, AL. a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
