Lardarius Cortez Shackelford

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Lardarius Cortez Shackelford, 30 of Decatur, AL will be noon Thursday, April 1, 2021 at God's Covenant Church Pavillion located at 601 Memorial Drive SW with the Reverend Regina Willingham officiation and inhumation in Sterrs Cemetery. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Lardarius Cortez Shackelford was born January 20, 1991 in Morgan County to Larry Shackelford and Jacklin Orr-Shackelford. He departed this life on Thursday March 25, 2021 at his residence in Decatur, Alabama. 

Lardarius was always full of life and laughter and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to work in places where he would see and have conversations with people. He carried a smile that would give you light if you were having a dark day. He became a fixture at Taco Bell and everyone was always delighted to be greeted and served by him. 

Lardarius was a 2011 Graduate of Austin High School. He loved music and played the drums for several programs at the school and community.  He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Calvary Assembly under the leadership of Pastor George Sawyer. Lardarius will truly be missed by all who loved him. 

Ladarius was preceded in death by: his grandparents, William Orr, Mary Orr and Frank Shackelford Jr, ; uncles, Frank Shackelford III and Thomas Shackelford.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted parents, Jacklin Downing (Randy) of Decatur, AL, and Larry Shackelford (Becky) of Trinity AL; three brothers, Keithian Shackelford, Denoris Warren Jr. and Demetrus Warren all of Decatur; two sisters, Lakysha Warren and Jasmine Downing both of Decatur; two godsisters, Taylor Shackelford and Kendra Coffey of Decatur; three grandmothers; Elease Shackelford of Hillsboro, AL, Linda Downing (William) of Plymouth, NC, and Rebecca Hood of Town, Creek, AL; five aunts, Dr. Lucy Cohen (Ronnie) and Shirley Shackelford of Hillsboro, AL, Annie Malone (Jake) of Sheffield, AL, Mary Ricks of Town Creek, AL, and Wendy Jackson (Billy) of Plymouth NC; six uncles, Calvin Orr (Sheree) of Hillsboro, Coynis Shackelford (Sarah) of Decatur,  Robert Brazille (Gloria) of Huntsville, AL, Anthony Downing (Theresa) and Christopher Downing of Plymouth, NC, and David Hood (Tequeenia) of Town Creek; one niece, Harmoni Warren; two nephews, Canon Warren, and Cage Cox all of Decatur, AL and a host of other cousins, extended family and friends.
